Luke Black Ltd has an established and diverse customer base, operating directly with the end client and in partnership with a wide variety of respected interior and furniture designers, architects and artists.
Our Specialist Finishing and Decorative Arts team is led by Luke Black, at our finishing studio in Shropshire.
Luke's story began under the guidance of a respected furniture maker and designer allowing him to gain a solid foundation of skills and knowledge in the furniture finishing industry. Luke’s exceptional finishing skills soon enabled him to work on numerous exciting projects both nationally and internationally. This included restoration and renovation projects in addition to work within new, luxury property developments.
As Luke thrives on the creation of new finishes, establishing his own company was a natural progression, – taking his skills and knowledge and applying them in his own unique way to create original, beautiful surfaces - Luke Black Ltd was established in 2011.
As Luke Black Ltd has developed, so has its team: while Luke continues to create and innovate, Anthea Renshaw joined the team in 2021. With a background in decorative arts and gilding, Anthea brings a complementary skillset and an aesthetic that expands the company’s range. As Executive Decorative Artist, Anthea supports the growing range of finishes we have to offer.
Elizabeth Black has been, from the company’s foundation, the backbone to the smooth running of all things administrative. Elizabeth provides quick and thorough estimates for work, promptly returned contracts and NDAs, production updates, and timely, clear and concise invoices and records.
As a team, we strive to provide personal communication from the start, imaginative and creative solutions to briefs, and high quality finishes that push the industry in new directions.
